Job Description

  Essential job duites of an Assistant Kitchen Manager:

  • Actively manages food safety and sanitation practices on a daily basis.
  • Ensure line checks are done with diligence and completed two times per day.
  • Activly manages and maintains proper inventory levels to support quality standards and freshness; recommends adjustments in pars. Never runs out of product.
  • Attends weekly manager meetings.
  • Is the liaison between Management and the BOH in efforts to improve Labor, Food Cost, and training.
  • Continually develops kitchen staff in their store to ensure the restaurant is sustaining excellent service standards. 
  • Ensures consistent follow through with all training materials with employees.
  • Assists in educating all staff with all food related rollouts.
  • Works with management to ensure the highest standards in safety and sanitation.
  • Provides leadership and feedback by aiding in opening and closing check lists to ensure sanitation is maintained at the highest level.
  • Makes recommendations for par adjustments and controlling food cost.
  • Ensures all station prep boards and pars are correct.
  • Screens potential applicants when time permits.
  • Actively seek out additions to the BOH team and development of their crew.
  • Provides feedback and assists with employee evaluations.
  • Teaches BOH team daily on the importance of safety. 

 

Requirements

 

  • Two-year college degree and/or two years management or restaurant industry experience.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills including management of labor and food cost targets.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of all Flatbread policies, procedures, and products.
  • Any applicable health and/or alcohol compliance card required by city or local agency.
  • Food Handler Certification as required by state and local agencies.
